Refund Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

We want you to buy PriorForge briefs and subscriptions with confidence. This policy explains when refunds are available and how to request one. Because our products are digital research deliverables, the rules hinge on one simple thing: whether you've downloaded the content yet.

1. One-Time Opportunity Briefs

14-day refund window — if the brief has not been downloaded. If you purchased a brief and haven't downloaded it, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked.

No refunds after download. Once you download a brief, the sale is final. Our briefs are digital goods whose entire value is delivered the moment you receive them — once you have the analysis, the scoring, and the augmentation vectors, you have the product. This is why we offer free sample briefs on the home page: you can see exactly what a PriorForge brief looks like before spending anything.

We track download status through the secure download tokens issued with each purchase, so eligibility is unambiguous.

3. Errors and Exceptional Cases

If something goes wrong on our end — you were double-charged, you were billed after cancelling, a download link never worked, or you received the wrong brief — contact us and we will make it right with a refund, replacement, or credit as appropriate. Billing errors are always corrected regardless of the timelines above.

4. Refunds Do Not Cover Patent Status Outcomes

Refund eligibility under this policy is based solely on download status and billing accuracy — never on whether a patent's status later changes, or whether our analysis, scoring, or classification turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete. As explained in our Terms of Service, "expired" is a data classification that can be reversed (e.g., a revival petition, a related continuation patent, a foreign counterpart) and is not a guarantee of freedom to operate. Dissatisfaction with, or a change in, the underlying patent status after purchase is not grounds for a refund once a brief has been downloaded.

5. How to Request a Refund

Email [email protected] from the email address used at checkout, and include:

We typically respond within 2 business days.

6. Refund Processing Time

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe. Once issued, refunds generally appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. We'll confirm by email when the refund has been initiated.

7. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer — we resolve legitimate issues quickly, and direct contact is almost always faster than the dispute process. We reserve the right to suspend access to the Services for accounts with fraudulent chargebacks, and to present evidence of your acceptance of this policy in any chargeback dispute.

8. Limitation of Liability

A refund issued under this policy is your sole and exclusive remedy for the billing or fulfillment issue it resolves. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AND REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ASSERTED — WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE — THIS POLICY DOES NOT EXPAND, AND IS SUBJECT TO, THE DISCLAIMERS, LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, AND INDEMNIFICATION PROVISIONS IN OUR TERMS OF SERVICE, WHICH GOVERN ALL USE OF THE SERVICES AND ARE INCORPORATED HERE BY REFERENCE. This does not limit liability for PriorForge's own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited as a matter of law.

Only a written confirmation from PriorForge (email is sufficient) modifies the refund eligibility rules in this policy for a specific purchase. Informal statements, chat responses, or verbal representations do not expand your refund rights beyond what this policy states.

9. No Third-Party Beneficiaries

This policy is for the benefit of you (the purchasing account holder) and PriorForge only. If a brief or subscription was purchased on behalf of, or its output was shared with, a client, employer, or other third party, that third party has no independent right to a refund or to enforce this policy; only the purchasing account holder may request a refund.

10. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute about a refund, charge, or billing matter is a "Claim" for purposes of, and is subject to, the binding individual arbitration, class action waiver, and dispute resolution provisions of our Terms of Service, which are incorporated here by reference.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes apply to purchases made after the "Last updated" date above; purchases made under an earlier version are governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.

12. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, consistent with our Terms of Service.
